And they [928 Int'l] work nicely.

Nicole has had them for a while. I got the same kit from Jager over a year ago. I think it was before she started selling them. They work excellent. I think you could stand on the armrest now and it wouldn't go anywhere.

I have the 928I setup -- as mentioned, one piece, also it ties in with the handle that you pull on every time you go to close the door. They only come as a set for 2 doors AFAIK, but IIRC the price is about the same.

So given mine are in good shape, it would be a good idea to add this to them to prevent breakage?

I would think so. The 928I units, IMHO do a better job of transmitting force from the handle to the door, bypassing the plastic. The curly part on the left is the part that attaches to the stud on the handle itself. Sorry Nicole -- just my honest opinion.

I fitted these ones to my 928 a few weeks ago while I was replacing the door arrestors and fixing my driver's door handle.

I didn't realise 928intl sold them too - they attach very snugly, although the bolts that stick out at 45 degrees on the small tab at the curly end of the brackets didn't allow me to fit my door card so I had to take them out (bolt #2 on the instruction sheet - the sheet did mention this may be an issue on some cars).

Fitting them BEFORE the plastic is all broken apart makes it easier and stronger....all the door armrests will eventually break.....

I have several that are broken...all are drivers side only. Wait, several..maybe only 2... '92 and '88... BOTH need fixing. How easy is that to install? How much of the door must be removed (for either Nicole's or 928 Intl...do we get half off still Jim???? Oh, wait that was used parts...DANG IT!) to install this? How hard would it be for someone who is always sitting down to do this??? I have time right now...

It's not hard, you just have to take the interior panel off of the door. Good time to replace the door arrestors as well, if needed. That reminds me... I could use one of those door arrestors...

I already did the door arrestors from Nichole. SUPER EASY! So, if the door rest support is no more difficult than that I am IN!

I was referring to replacing the factory part WYAIT, not installing the kit that Nicole offers. These door reinforcements are quite a bit more involved than that one-bolt door arrestor kit that Nicole sells.

Yea, I figured you were talking about the real thing... Those are a royal PITA to deal with. The arrestor kit is WAY easier and works just fine, can't imagine suffering through putting in new factory original ones that are going to go bad in the long run anyway... But to each his own...

Just need my arm rests made more solid...

Hmmm... with the door panel off my driver side took less than 5 minutes. IMHO screwing with the door panel is the biggest pain, which is why I consider the arrestor a WYAIT. As you say, to each his own.
