Default What wheels will fit on my 928 S4 Manual

First let me say Thanks for the help with my other two questions!!!!!
This is purely cosmetic, I hate the stock Wheels!!! what can I put on my 928 S4 manual and will it need spacers if so what size? I have been all throught the other Porsche models and none seem to come close! book says I need 65 offset on the front and 52.3 on the back, I would like to keep 16" wheels but would upgrade to 17 or 18 if it is safe? any ideas? I never see any 928's with stock wheels on them.

I have read most of the theads it does not address performance issues with the front offset needing to be 65, this is what I am worried about?

Stay with 55mm or more in the front with no more than 8.5" and you will not adversely affect performance. The rears in 10" can be anything from ~45mm to 65mm. You can use spacers to get the 65's down. Or go with custom wheels and do 9.5" 68mm in the front and 11" 58mm in the rear. Customs cost around ~US$3000.

You can also go to Wheeldynamics.com and there is a scale for wheel sizes. Your other alternative is to call Tire Rack and they will be more than happy to give you the correct sizes and dimensions for wheels for your S-4 Good luck on your search and post some pictures

Check out this thread....https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...coolest+wheels

Wheels of all sizes shown here. As for 17s or 18s, there are a lot of guys running 19s now with no issues. The offet is the main thing to look out for. Most combinations have been tried by someone somewhere on this board. A lot of guys just find the wheels they like and then post a query as to whether or not they'll fit before they purchase.

as mentioned before, front offset is key. stay about 55 (mine is 57) and you should be fine, though some folks have reported working with an ET of 50.

I don't know whose car this is, but I saw this picture, loved the wheels, and tracked them down for my 996. They look great, are relatively cheap, and fit most any P car except old 911s, pre 89.

What are you looking for?
1. Biggest coolest looking wheel that impresses bystanders (but makes acceleration, braking and handling worse)?
2. A better wheel and tire combo than stock that will actually make the car perform better?
There are 2 different schools of thought on this, and many old-timers here would tell you to do new shocks and address any needed maintenance first, and recommend a quality set of tires (only) second.

The rim issue never ends. When I bought my 81 that was one of the first things I hated. It came with the S4 dish rims that had been getto'd with a terrible paint job. I bought a set of 16" polished PD's from Russ and it really changed the look of the car. I just need the spacers now to finish the look.

would offsets of 52 be ok all round? If the fronts had to be increased, would it need spacers?
