That red S4 that was just stolen in the Philly area got me wondering: How hard is it to steal a 928 (apparently not hard enough...) . I recall that there are plates to prevent slim-jimmying the locks, and the doors are a dead-bolt style lock iirc. How does one test if the factory alarm is working? I assume I have one since I have the longer key with this car. What does the factory alarm actually do on these cars? I used to use a 'club' on my '83, but I hate having to always mess with those things. What do you guys do to protect your cars? Pitbull and an AK47? Thanks.

Roll down a window, lock the car with the alarm key, (not sure if there is a time delay before arming so wait 15 seconds or more), reach in and turn the door lock, then open the door. It should get loud. Hidden kill switch when out. Disconnect the battery when at home. I would recommend a Rottweiler and an MP5 over the other choices.

I might have to dig one up when I get home.

Shane, I was on goole earth last night checking out Dutch harbor. WHERE do you drive all your cars man?? Do you ferry regularily to the mainland, or just cruise locally. Satellite shots looked like there was a pretty mean loop through the mountains from the harbor.

I live and work in Dutch Harbor, but we own a vacation house in Wa State, and that is where I keep the sharks. I get out of here two months a year. Well I'm almost outa here for good, but I'm staying a little longer to get some more shark goodies.

However, it can be a hand full when conering at suburban speeds in slippery conditions. With too much throttle, too quickly the transmission may suddenly downshift in the middle of a turn and give you a nice pucker! Once you get used to it, it's not a problem. The car is a lot easier to drive in traffic because a much smaller movement of the accelerator will take you down a gear. It probably doesn't help my gas mileage but it's so much fun.

While heading back to Florida my oil pressure gauge pegged, I know this means the sender or wire has probably failed. My question is will the low oil pressure light still come on if the engine's about to go boom. Currently about 5 hours from home.
