Windscreen wiper squirters in op
The squirters in my car have never worked so when tackling my ABS sensors I decided to take a stab an finding out the root cause. I got the head light washers to work and about a quart of really mucky water came out. The pump in the big tank makes lots of noise but nothing comes thru the hoses. I disconnected the hose at the hood thinking that it might be the nozzles. I tried running a wire thru the hoses as well but I can only get about 8 inches. I drained the resevoir and lots of crud came out.
Do the hoses parrish in time?

The pump in the tank is for your headlights, it's the external pump further down in the engine bay for the windshield. Cheap to replace but maybe check the fuse first.
The hoses don't perish but the metal connectors rust and clog the system.

The two metal collars (one on the tank, one on the fill neck) rust out over the years. You'll need to deinstall the tank and neck and clean out every trace of the original collars. Some people put copper collars back in. You'll likely need to replace your window washer pump. (I have an extra brand new one).
While you're at it, clean and refurb all the check valves, and consider upgrading to the S4 style tank. The below posts go into some detail on the refurb and on the upgrade.
