Hyundai Genesis Coupe
Happy New Years ya'll.
I just came across the Genesis Coupe. If Hyundai sells one of these in the US I will buy one. Six speed manual and RWD. 0 to 60 mph in less than 6 sec. Not too shabby!!!

i guess i need only to read the provided link for my answers
"Hyundai is pegging the new RWD Coupe as a Mustang fighter. Perhaps that is why it is seen parked next to a mustang in these pictures. If the specs we have are accurate, then they could ultimately be right. According to our source, the Coupe will initially come with two engine options, a 2.0L turbo with 215HP and 217 ft-lbs of torque, or a 3.8LV6 with 300HP and 280 ft-lbs. Prices are suggested to begin at $19,900 for the 4 banger, and $25,900 for the V6. We’ve got reason to believe that the Coupe may even one day come with Hyundai’s newly developed Tau V8 engine."

Hyundai's build quality and road feel has achieved that of early '80s Japanese cars, though heavier of course, but lack the intangible "driver connection" that IMO makes a truly good car. The several I've test-driven (my Mom's, LOL) felt like solid appliances.
Maybe they'll figure out automotive soul soon. Good luck!

Obligatory 928 content: I still want another one.

its a nice enough car for what it is, a sub $30K car, but this is by no means a suitable replacement for a Porsche 928. It will probably cost less to maintain in the next 5 years though.

I just drove a Genesis Coupe R-Spec and I thought it's great. Very 928 (GTS)-ish in that it's wide & well planted. I thought the F&R tracks were nearly bang on and they are (62*/63" vs 63/63").
The rear end is lighter with 56F/44R and it's a bit longer WB @ 111". Weight is the same 3500lbs.
The V6 is silky, the driving position is good with a low cowl, steering weight is perfect, the shifting is good, better than say a 944 or 928.
Brakes are Brembos, exhaust sounds cool and the suspension is firm with the R-tuning. This car really is like a modern 928 except the interior is plasticky and doors close more like a 911.
Used prices are Low of $7K USD to 20K or so. And end of model clearouts on for new stock.

If anything I'm a FIAT proponent, lol. Our new shop manager drives one so I said "hey throw me your keys", and was really surprised by it.
The media seems to pit it against Mustang, Camaro, which makes no sense to me. Different things. The G-coupe is not a Japanese sports car in the Toyota or RX7 flavour (at least that I remember).
But from a 928 view, yes it makes a lot of sense. We keep discussing the "next 928" or the Panamera-based 928, well this is sort of it. Now discontinued, sales numbers weren't that great.
In Vancouver area, where SUV's, AWD/FWD, prestige, etc. sell, there seem to be more than a few leftovers.

Wife got a pristine 2014 with the turbo 4, 8 speed auto.
Bought it new.
Same body as the 6 cyl. much taller than the 928's that sandwich it on the driveway.
Can't say anything good about the driving experience whatsoever. The shift points really, really need work. Avoid the 4.
Having the 6, with the 6 speed, and a pair of 928 sport seats, that would indeed be good!
