Thumbs up 928's on P-CarOnline

I was just looking at the P-CarOnline directory/pseudo-directory and was amazed.

Of the 550 listing in the directory, 928 owners account for over 110!

I think that is truely amazing. Great job folks! If you're not signed up or haven't posted pictures, get out there and do it! I, for one, love looking at other people's 928s.

Dave-

Where in Detroit are you? We should try and hook up some time. I live in Canton, but travel to Benton Harbor every week for work. LMK.

I live in Royal Oak. Dozman and I get together pretty frequently, and bergstrm (Shawn) is in the area every week so we see him sometimes, too. There's another 928 owner (Dennis, 82 Weissach) in Royal Oak. He's got the cleanest 928 I've seen yet.

I work in downtown Detroit every day. Throw me an email (davesq2001@hotmail.com) and maybe we can get together.

Andrew,

Hows it going?? Years ago I lived in Canton. What roads do you live at? Maybe meet me and Big Dave at the Dream cruise next weekend?

Max, what are those "other" wheels in that rear 3/4 view?

kinda partial to the Cup 2 wheels myself....

I think you mean the ones in the picture below, they were PO installed. They are a nice, 3pcs-forged aluminum Italian made rim (ETOILE 455).

I like a more stock appearance, so I replaced them with the Cup II rims in the above picture.

Thanks Andrew for the link to the P-Caronline site. It's nice to be able to post pic's again.

Thanks Max.
That was the photo and the wheels in question.
I agree, I prefer retaining a "factory look" too,
and the Cup wheels (either I or II) are great on
any model year of the 928.

Doz et al-

I live real close to Cherry Hill & Beck. I'd like to get together sometime, but I doubt I can make it to the dream criuse THIS year. My wife has me on a short leash.

I met shawn a couple months back when he came by my house to pick up a set of repair manuals on CD. Poor guy got pulled over for speeding on Michigan Avenue in his GEO(?) - not sure if I feel sorry for him because he got pulled over or if it was because of the GEO... Sorry Shawn...

Maybe we need to start a monthly Detroit 928/Porsche gathering? Maybe there already is one. Anyone have a suggestion for a good meeting place?

In any event I'd love to hook up with some of you guys and compare cars sometime before winter. I am planning on going to the Frenzy - Road trip opportunities?

If you guys do hook up at the Dream Cruise give me a call on my cell and if I can get the wife's claws out of my back, I'll come over a for an afternoon. I know Brian Buxton will be at Auto Europe with his Panoz. Call me. 734-837-7908

Max, I really like the Silver 928 with your wheels. Just was thinking that the clear lights I have on the front would look awesome on your Silver Shark.

However, I am still not satisfied with them:

The replacment turn signal light is not as clear as the rest of the assembly. Also, I am trying to install them without removing the extra little piece of metal that is used to hold the black piece on. Anyway, I am living with it for now as only I notice

I'll second that - Matt Olde has done a fabulous job for us... and he's picked up our domain name for the registry as well: you can reach p-caronline with: www.the928Registry.org

Andrew, good luck on that leash problem. Until then, careful you don't get your dress caught in the fanbelt while working on your car...
