Hell I want a TVR Cerbera or a Tuscan S.. Like that one in the movie sword fish. Is it possible to smuggle a car into the country?

Yes, you cut it in half and import it as "parts". Then put it back together and bribe someone at the DMV to get you a clean title

That would be some expensive shipping. I could bribe someone at the DMV here i would just do vin swap of a wrecked something or other that no one here has seen.. Could the body be shipped as on piece, less doors hood and trunk?

Yah, I would take the Tuscan S in a pinch , freekin awsome machine, and looks the part too.

There's an even more powerful "Tuscan R" coming out. Turbocharged, I think, with something in the neighborhood of 450 horsepower.

The interesting thing about TVR is that they make every part of their car, right down to the switches (at least now that they use their own speed-six engines and not the Rover V8's).

Personally, I don't like their newer models as much as the Griffths, Chimeras and Cereberas, but if I lived in England (and had the cash) I wouldn't hesitate to buy any of them, new or old.

Click on the link that K27 provided - The top picture (top right) shows the AM buring out?. Can anyone tell me what's wrong with that picture?. Yes - trick question.

PS - The New Carrera GT will smoke that thing like a .50 Magnum does to a .38

The funny thing is that Ulrich Bez, Chairman of Aston Martin, used to be the Engineering Director at Porsche, after working for BMW. Then he got fired / layed off / released from Porsche, took a detour through Korea, and ended up at Aston Martin. I suppose he's been placed there by former Ford PAG Chairman Wolfgang Reizle - Ex-BMW Engineering Guru, who left Ford in the meantime.

Anyway, Bez has intimate knowledge about the BMW and Porsche philosphies, and therefore has a good feel for what makes a supercar. They have done a marvellous job with the baby Aston and the V12 - and yes, this is one of the few cars I would consider trading my 928 for...

This is getting a little off topic, but does anyone know the real reason that Bond drove an Aston Martin in the latest 007 installment? It is for the same reason he drove BMW's in the last three. It's because Wolfgane Reizle--former head of Ford PAG, and before that BMW chief--is personal friends of the Broccoli family (the Bond producers and creators of children's most un-favorite vegetable). Now that Reitzle is out of the car biz-ness, maybe Danjaq will default to having Bond back in the car Fleming always wanted him in, a Bentley; I'd certainly pay money to see a new Continental GT shooting missiles from its tailpipes.

Well... for a while, the Brits considered BMW a hero for (trying) to save their car industry. So they got the privilege of Bond's attention. Now that BMW has sold Range Rover and got rid of Rover, the Brits don't see BMW as favorable anymore - so why have one of their heroes advertise for them?

I strongly belive that the cars Bond drives are "paid advertising" in one way or another. Whether the manufacturer really pays the studio, or just pays for all the customizations, or just provides those expensive things, I don't know. I have heard that there were at least seven each of Bond's Aston and the bad guy's Jaguar for the last episode. All Ford models, so it makes sense that Halle Berry drove up in a Thunderbird.

Bond has advertised for all kinds of stuff in the past, including watch manufacturers, and cat food... But that's not why I like the new Aston Martin cars!

My spec book says the same as yours but the confusion comes from Porsche themselves.

The 1985 Service Info books shows 288HP instead of 292HP.
