I talked to Delta about the sensor, and he is sending mine without the normal cover on the probe, but with all the bits if I need them. All Greg needs to do is drill a 1/8" hole in a plug the right size for one of the unused radiator fittings on the outlet tank and seal the probe in with Permatex 16B.

Consider it very much a "work in progress", and I will post picts, as long as I don't mess up the camera.
I am still stewing about the final look, and the desirability of keeping the factory shrouds, which might lead me to try a smaller diameter fan like the Taurus I mentioned. Mounting is a big issue, as I don't like the plastic ties through the radiator type, but good mounting points otherwise aren't clear yet.

Understood.
I'm also not a fan of the plastic ties through the radiator. My 86 radiator is still holding out
and I'd rather not put ANY extra stresses on it.
Has anyone following this thread had any luck mounting a replacement 'puller' fan without
resorting to plastic cable ties?
