I know Mark ( from the FAST days) should create a laugh if nothing else if I send him the interior pics

Many ways,

"I love this car" I want to buy it, can I take it for a ride, here is a deposit check to hold onto, I want to buy it, my offer is "silly money" let me take it for a spin, vroooom.... gone

I heard from one person that he tells them he can sell a car for them, they give him the keys and... vrooom.... gone

offers to have work done on your car for you, He'll get it done at "his" contacts places, like uphostery shops or paint shops, you hand over the keys and .... vrooom.... gone

he normally takes the time to get to know you so you begin to trust him, as soon as he thinks he has you hooked, he makes his move

Ahh. okay..... I can REALLY see some people getting their car stolen when he has them drop the car off at his 'hook up' for some repairs, or paint, tnterior etc....
I guess he is smart in many ways, but not all... i would have parted your car out or done engine swap etc... with his record he has to know by now that it will catch up to him! i can't wait to see your post saying this scumbag is in jail!

Yep, seriously uglified. If the leather's nice, maybe it's time for leatherique coloring. Just make sure you vacuum out all the rice.

Lesson Learned: Only do srtaight transactions, never accept favors , don't give keys to anybody unless either you dont care about the car or you know that person like you know yourself.

Sh*t, I had to learn those lessons too the hard way as a teenager. At least a dozen scammers I bumped into back then.

some folks have asked me for some pics of the wheels, here there are,

18" wheels, looks like 18x10 rear and 18x9 front, notice that each wheel has 2 x valve stems per rim, can anyone tell me what that's all about ?

thx

Do you have more pictures of that pod?? I wonder who did that leather work....

Hi Marcus:

I'm glad to read you got your baby back! Hopefully you can get it back to a more tasteful interior look - I can't tell, if everything silver has this strange carbon look to it, but at the very least that would have to go.

What is the deal with this ASAP company? Is that the perp's fake company, or a real one? Who did the interior work? I'm sure he did not do it himself. If you could at least get the same materials to match, you'd be a step ahead, Or maybe some parts can just be dyed to the matching blue? Hard to tell by looking at the pictures...

Best of luck, and hope to see you at one of the future events!!!

Marcus, I tend to like things most others do not, but I have to side with the majority on this one...those wheels are FUGLY and the interior is just plain FUGLIER! The guy not only needs to go to jail, but needs a hard slappin too!

I think you told me who did the upholstery work, but it slips my mind. Were they in Reseda on Tampa? They do good work, but must have had barf bags strung around their necks while they did the work.

What an idiot he is.

Hi Nicole

The silver is some kind of Carbon fibre look, not sure what material it is yet, I still have the car locked up at the police impound lot, fortunately I know the owner and he was kind enough to store it there until I have the time to start the rebuild, right now I am collecting a few body parts to get her road worthy again.

here is the "bogus" ASAP company website, note you will not find any contact info...

http://www.advancedsystemsandperformance.com/index.html

The car on the front page is a 1984, I have the vin number and the police tell me it's not registered under any of the crook's known aliases or his real name so we assume it's also stolen, inside the website you will see my car when it was still red. He also has a red 1987 but the police tell me that's registered to someone else too.

the interior shop has asked me not to reveal their name as they do not want to be associated with this person, they did offer to help me restore the interior but I declined as I did not want my car anywhere near where this crook hangs out, his "chop shop" is not that far from them
