What ever became of this idea? Has anyone actually installed one?

I want to add a roof antenna and really like the looks of this fin design. Any updates, tips, tricks, or pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Did the amplifier help your reception, Rod?

Same here!...and I will eat my words on the RICER look for the shark fin. I am actively looking for one at this moment.

As I had posted in another tjhread regarding center console reconfiguring. I need Sirius/GPS/FM. This is what I have found so far.

TRIPLEX
Item no.:GA-GS-206
Frequency: GPS 1,575MHz+/-3MHz
Band width: +/-5MHz
Impedance: 50Ω
SWIR: 1.5:1
Gain: >3dB
Cable: RG174

Frequency: GSM 890-960MHz, 1,710-1,990MHz
Impedance: 50Ω
SWIR: <2
Gain: 2.15dB
Cable: RG174

Frequency: 76-110MHz (FM), 525-1,700MHz (AM)
Gain: +20dB (FM), +5dB (AM)
Impedance: 75Ω
Cable: 3C-2V
Voltage: 10-14V
Cable length: 8''
Dia. of installation hole: diameter 15mm

All I could find for this one was - Car antenna can receive radio FM/AM/XM, GPS, and GSM

If anyone can follow these leads, let me know! I am actively looking and will post in OT as well. I will report back with info I find.

The XM part of the equation just got easier, Sirius and XM are merging.

Not really. The company I work for installs DirectTV & XM on aircraft. It is my understanding that the XM technology is simpler and that the merged companies would lean to XM.

i will be doing it to mine. i started a thread while back with the idea... and got flamed (someone thought it looked trashy on a mustang, so he assumed it would look the same way on a 9ner)

Subject: Fin Antenna Question

In the FAQ section it’s mentioned that this antenna is going to be satellite compatible. Has the design progressed to the point where it will receive AM/FM and satellite signals with reasonably good reception?

This is where Rod sourced his:

Sounds like that SAT version has been due any time for almost a year now.
