Porsche is a turbo company.

They always have been. And when there is room and a properly built engine for the turbo, and the turbo is sized correctly, its a great combination.

Read post #1 again -- that's not what he was asking for. He's trying to make up his mind and has some specific questions.

European 42# injector SharkTuner test car (with Delta P intercooler SC kit) John mentions is heading to dyno as I type this. Results might not be as impressive as some charts we have seen here simply because level of boost is lowish.

I've seen exactly one supercharged 996. Merdian in So Cal had the car and it was a pain in the ***, sounded cool and wasn't terribly fast. Meridian didn't do the install, they were hired to try and fix it. In the end they got it done but wished the owner had opted for turbos instead.

Good cause that wasn't what he was looking for. There was a very brief chat bout whether the TS could provide 500+ RWHP...

He was also looking for info concerning fueling and ems.

The thread 'evolved' however.

John,
Regarding tip in we were going to retard timimg a bit below 3500 using a SMT. What say you?

Very curious to hear what you have in store with your custom LH.

Jim- my street bike has laptop interface for fuel mapping and timing, so with an exhaust and other mods it gets precise fueling at all times. If that same capability becomes available for our antique 928 brains, that sounds really good.

Jim,
retarding the ignition has been found not to work for that problem. It's a lean out...

To think a turbo 928 couldn't break 400rwhp (at all) when it's already making 365rwhp@4.5psi is kinda silly. I'm glad everyone is carefully tuning in lieu of just throwing fuel & boost at the poor 20-year old engine! Now that my throttle-housing leak is fixed (took a LOT of steel), I'll 1/4 tonight & redyno next weekend...(Dynoing a 928TS is fun, M'Kay?)

Well, it came out at:

Rear wheels:
322 kW = 438 hp @ 5700 rpm

Engine:
365 kW = 496 hp @ 5700 rpm
633 Nm @ 5200 rpm

Boost (c/f) is about 6psi.
