Another vacuum hose question...
well, I'm back from my Rita evacuation and can finish the assembly of the intake. One peculiar thing I found, is a couple of vacuum hose connections.
On my 86.5, it seems as if THIS VACUUM LINE (pink arrow pointing to it) was connected via a long hose to the 7-way tee, instead of the drivers-front fuel pressure damper being connected to the 7-way tee. The fuel damper wasn't actually connected to a vacuum connection at all.
So, I understand that the fuel-pressure damper should be connected to the tee, but where does this line connect to? I believe this is the HVAC master vacuum line but am not sure and can't find where it connects to... any thoughts, advice or picures? I've looked in the PET but can't find the appropriate page. On the vacuum connection section, it doesn't show this. I'll continue to search of course but if someone here had a quick reply, that would really help!
Regarding the fuel-pressure damper, what would be the effect if one of them wasn't connected to a vacuum line as in my case?
Here is the pic.

yes, i've looked at the diagram on hood but it doesn't help with this line - neither does the WSM on this... thanks though.
All my connections on the 7-way tee are OK now, but the vacuum line running into the firewall (HVAC?) used to be wrongly connected to the tee. Now that I fixed that portion (the fuel-pressure damper), I don't know where the HVAC line goes...

Troy, I think there should be a tee near the vacuum booster and check valve where the HVAC vacuum line that goes thru the firewall into the interior should hook into.

I thought of that Glen, but there is nothing there (no tee). I'm not confident that the PO's mechanic did any of this rationally. Like I said, there was no line going to the drivers front fuel-damper as he used it for the HVAC line. Still don't know what that would do?
Anyways, I was thinking about buying a tee and running it into something near there but wasn't sure (still am not) where to connect it (if it would matter). thanks.

Troy,
The vacuum hose routing diagram sticker on the underside of your hood should give you a rough idea where the hoses go. Also try page 24-208 in the workshop manual.
Good luck,
Charles

As Shane states, you're missing a rubber 4 way T at the brake booster/check valve...
One end is capped (used for vac testing, one line goes to the blu/blk check valve then to brake booster, the other goes to the vac resivior cannister in the drivers fender the last line going into the firewall for the HVAC. Is your car an auto or 5 spd? There is also a vac line to the trans that sneaks over the bellhousing, it kinda looks like it goes into the firewall as well.

Scott, it's an Auto - the transmission line is there and intact and is coming from the 7-way tee. I'm pretty confident I have the lines from the 7-way figured out correctly as I have the diagrams. This one though I'm not sure of.
I'm going to poke around soon to see if I can find the 4-way tee or to see what's routed where.
thanks all!

EUREKA!
here's my 4-way tee... maybe I should call it my non-4-way tee
Should be easy from here - Autozone or O'Reily's for a connector and get them all hooked back up!
thanks a lot! Rennlist is great!

Hold the celebration for a moment...
One of the branches of the 4 way you seem to be missing goes to the three way you pictured above.
I just looked at my 86.5 (auto). The vac lines go as such: Off the brake booster is a little plastic nipple (if I can use that word on Rennlist ) that line goes to the little round blu/blk check valve; one end of the T is capped, the third line goes to the hard plastic line that enters the firewall (HVAC), the last line from the 4 way goes to that 3 way of which go to the drivers fender, feeding the cruise and vac resivior cannister.
So, on your car, where does the black rubber line go (that is just above the lifting hook in pic above)?
