Default TIC-TIC sound ??

I have a funny TIC-TIC sound near the center Console under the radio under accelaration (any kind - smooth or hard) when the car is cold. As soon as it become warm, the sound is gone !!!

It sounds like a relay but there is no relays in there execpt for seat belt/chime relay and it is working fine.

Any ideas?

Sounds like HVAC....have you tried different settings on the climate control to see if it effects the noise?

If you're not entirely sure it is coming from the console (and it sounds like you are) the other thing it might be is the counter for the oxygen sensor under the cover just right of the passenger seat. Some folks recommend disconnecting the counter-- it produces a rotational "click" noise proportional to wheel (engine?) speed when bad. Some people suggest disconnecting it to see if the sound goes away.

The sound came back last week-end. But this time, the cruise control disengages under acceleration witch say that it is, probably, vacuum related.

Where should I look first?
