Some extra info:
Issues
1) No A/C. The system is empty. The A/C hoses probably need to be replaced, and maybe the compressor, too. I never did anything with it.
2) 2nd gear synchro is weak. It doesn't always grind, but it usually does.
3) There is a driveline vibration probably due to the torque tube bearings being worn. It comes on around 4k rpm but is weak in the first few gears. The vibration is somewhat strong in the 90-100mph range. On a daily basis, it wasn't much of a problem, but it's there.
4) Salvage title! Was a theft recovery at some point. Odometer was broken when I bought the car, but it works now. True mileage unknown.
5) The paint is fair. Lots of little flaws, some oxidation on the hood, and the sunroof panel is particularly bad, and a little rusty in places. Overall, the car looks pretty nice, but it isn't anywhere near perfect.
6) The sunroof is out of alignment and currently won't open. It leaks in the rain. Two hours would probably fix it, but I haven't had much time lately (2.5hrs daily commuting + 11 hrs/day of working).
7) The climate control system doesn't work correctly. The smallest movement to the right on the slider induces full heater. The fan works fine, though. The rear defroster doesn't work.
8) Interior is rough but presentable. The electrics are a little flaky (lights flicker on and off from time to time).
9) It's technically due for a timing belt change, and probably a water pump. Since it's non-interference, I wouldn't be in a rush to replace it.
10) The power steering rack leaks very slowly. I've filled it up twice in 30k miles, so it's a really slow leak. The coolant reservoir leaks at the seam and needs to be refilled every 600-1,000 miles. The cooling system otherwise functions perfectly and the car runs very cool under all conditions, even sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic in 100+ degree temperatures.
11) It needs tires. Immediately.
12) The driver's door lock stopped operating the central locking system. It also lost all turning resistance, so I assume that it is a mechanical, rather than an electrical, problem.
Why it's still a good deal:
1) It runs well and always starts. I've never been stranded in this car in over 30k miles. A rod in the shift linkage broke but has been replaced. The (rebuilt) alternator died twice before I replaced it with a giant Delco unit. The positive cable was replaced with a 00-gauge cable at the same time. I used this car as my daily driver for my 110 mile daily commute. It never let me down.
2) It has sport seats. The driver's seat had the face recovered in velour, but the old leather is cracking (see pics). I love the seats. They could use a little work, though.
3) When the tires were still in good shape, it handled amazingly well. The car is always stable and makes you feel like a skilled driver. It is incredibly stable well into the triple digits. I've personally had the car at 135mph and it was rock solid. When you make a mistake, the car is extremely forgiving.
4) Despite the flaws, it's still a really nice looking car. It's the first car I've had that people actually notice and compliment me on. The interior isn't in great shape, but it's a really great cockpit.
5) It has a new clutch master cylinder and rebuilt slave cylinder, both replaced in an attempt to see if the 2nd gear syncho problem could get better. It didn't change much, so you get nearly-new clutch hydraulics. The clutch itself has just 30k miles on it.
6) With the test pipe in, it sounds like a race car. It's not that it's loud, but that it sounds mean.
7) It has the Euro intake. You're 1/3 of the way (money-wise) to 280hp. Just add Euro heads and cams.
8) It's a 928, dammit!
I want to sell it quickly so I can get something that gets better gas mileage. With gas prices where they are, I could save as much as $200 a month with a more fuel-efficient car, and I plan on using the savings to finish my 924 turbo project (my true passion). I would love to keep it and do European heads and cams with an '85-up transaxle, but I have limited resources.

I was thinking more like a Honda Civic. Unfortunately, I'm spending around $350/month in gas, and it just doesn't make sense to drive the 928 every day.

wow, im in Pasadena RIGHT NOW. I was expecting to see a beat up 928, but your 928 looks superb for the cash. The last thing I need is ANOTHER car, but holy ****...
