Yes. I suspect you may be my long lost brother.

If you ever get around to doing it, let me know? I'd like to put in a lexan rear hatch on my S2.

If you aren't restricted by your sanctioning body's tech spec requirements, etc. you can do what I did and make one from a 5 Star piece, conduit, and aluminum plate. Crude but effective. The weight savings was 33 pounds. It is not remotely weather tight but I suspect that may not be a concern in Dubai.

I used a "never used but rejected" rear Lexan NASCAR hatch that I was able to buy for like $25 but only because I live in NASCAR country. It was a 5 Star product and I assume they will sell them directly.
