Default Air Bag System Nuts

The nuts left behind by the break-off bolts used to attach air bag system components in our cars are unique and I have been able to overcome the uniqueness by using a pair of small vice grips up until the last dam nut. The location prevents use of the vice grips.

Anyone have the nut removal tool by chance?

I believe the standard removal practice is to use a punch and hammer on the outside edge (maybe the little ridges might work) to turn the nut bit by bit.

chisel and hammer
(or maybe pneumatic chisel, if you have one)
just make sure the applied force is as tangential as possible.

Default David pagan Promotion air bag system nuts

Cheap Tool Tip:
you can get a cheap socket and cut around the out side reverse triangular indentations thus it would look like a hole saw . attached to your extension and when removing push against the nut ( teeth grab teeth and it's removed ) .

I have one I purchased back in the late 80s. I believe that I paid $15 for it.
