Default Spring plate supposed to twist?

Still having a heck of a time getting torsion tube back together. See anything wrong?

Is spring plate supposed twist as you extend it down to put torsion bar in proper place? Just don't want to break something. You can see in the picture below that the spring plate twists as the control arm is lowered. Maybe that is why its called a spring plate?

I did this before, but with solid bushings in a race car and it was so much easier as it just moved easily.

This is harder as the rubber bushings just grip tight, trying to move the trailing arm.

Any tips from people who have done rubber bushings appreciated.

That is normal. You have the suspension in a position that is not in its operating trajectory so you can say it is in an extreme.

I've been having the same thing happen that Marc did - on various threads. It periodically won't show new posts.

CRC makes a silicone grease for brake systems...won't detriorate the rubber..called Silaramic. Good for brakes and rubber..should be able to help the sticky parts slide easier.
