Tip - you might talk to 9products about making a similar gear for the 4-valve 928 engines - they are in desperate need of "new" cam gears as theirs wear out and are NLA.
If they could be sold at a similar price point per gear (about $400/set) they would go like hot cakes...

If a design could be made to fit both, that's a huge market.

New design 944 adjustable cam gear, group buy, 9 Products
NEW DESIGN PICTURES ARE POSTED, LASER ETCHING HASN'T BEEN PUT ON YET. WE ONLY NEED 3 MORE ORDERS. I have been speaking with the owner of 9 Products in Finland for an adjustable cam gear for all the 8 valve 944s. So it fits all the 944s and 924S, just doesnt fit the 944S and S2. I need just 5 orders for him to make a run. The color will be black with a gunmetal gray inside section. You can adjust the timing from 0 to 10 degrees in either direction. 9 Products has been selling performance Porsche parts for over 14 years. The price is only $219.99 to start. It could go down depending on the amount of orders. I will pay for the shipping from Finland and if you live in any US state shipping will be $6.95. I will get some pictures up. My laptop charger broke and I'm using my tablet. These are not on their website. This is a special order to see how it goes. There are no other adjustable cam gears at this price and at this level of quality that I know of. Yes there are more expensive ones, I know. The owner is very enthusiastic about doing a run for 944 owners in the USA. You can IM me here if interested. Also give me your Pay Pal email, shipping address, full name and phone number and I will send an invoice. I have them listed on eBay. There are pictures there. My eBay screen name is Kevin3681. Thank you! Kevin Anderson. OK I GOT NEW INFO. FROM THE OWNER OF 9 PRODUCTS. THESE PICTURES ARE FROM AN OLD DESIGN. HE WILL BE SENDING ME A CAD DRAWING OF THE NEWEST DESIGN. IT CAN BE SET 0 TO 10 DEGREES IN EITHER DIRECTION. THE CENTER IS MADE OF 7075 ALUMINUM, WHICH HE SAYS IS AS STRONG AS STEEL AND STRONGER IN SOME APPLICATIONS. IT WILL ALSO BE HARD ANODIZED. THE PRICE WILL STAY THE SAME. SO THERE YOU HAVE IT. A MUCH MORE MODERN CAM GEAR THAT COMPETES WITH THE BEST OF THEM BUT INEXPENSIVE.[/QUOTE]

I am going to be listing more parts like the semi solid engine mounts, 968 Turbo RS front strut upper mounts that fit all 944s, 924s and 968s. It is an exact duplicate that Porsche Factory Racing used back in 1992, 1993 on the 968 when it raced LeMans amongst other races. The front upper strut Camber Plates which are just as good, if not better than the usual suspects that sell them in the US, but you won't need to take out a home equity loan to buy them. I've been forced to use my tablet for everything while my laptop gets fixed and I can't figure out how to save and download pictures with this thing.

Also, are they available in any other colors?

We can do custom in basic colors. Just send an inquiry to info@9xx-parts.com
Yes, Kevin can import the products but I think there is not big difference in delivery cost.

Hacker-Pschorr, you are talking about a cam gear for the early 928s right? I'm probably amongst the few people here that went into the Hacker-Pschorr tent in Munich for Oktoberfest.
