Just got mine in the mail yesterday, along with the improved shift linkage! Just waiting on new output seals and drain plugs to show up and I'll be ready to swap in the replacement transaxle... Absolutely can't wait to get this stuff installed!

Please report back on your impressions! Mine's in the car but the car isn't on the road yet and probably won't be for a couple more weeks, I'm dong a complete suspension and power train refresh on it with new engine & transmission mounts too.

Believe it or not, I forgot to install the short shift kit before I put the transaxle back in (that's why I mentioned it) but had to take the gearbox out again because a sleeve was missing between it and the TT so I got a second chance. It was easy to do with the gearbox out, I wouldn't want to follow the procedure that comes with the kit though.

It was sort of funny. I'd wrapped up the transmission part of the install and found this extra part on my bench while I was cleaning up and getting set to clamp the drive shaft to the TX. It had been sitting there on the bench almost a year and I couldn't figure out what it was. It hit me the next day...

I just installed the Only944 short shifter and linkage arm today. Oh, man...what a difference. Nice, crisp shifts. I think I am going to add the shift lever to complete the package.

Love the Only944 shifter parts! No way I could go back to stock.

..but get the orange vibration dampers to complete the upgrade. It's a bit thinner than the OE lever.

Finally got the linkage and short shift kit installed tonight- getting the old linkage off the shift shaft was an absolute bear, though. I can't imagine being able to get that loose with the transmission still on the car. Took an hour and a half and a freaking gear puller to eventually get the stupid thing loose...

Hoping to try the swap tomorrow, but am guessing it'll probably be a couple weeks before I actually get to try it. Can't wait to give the new shifter a try, and to be able to actually use third gear without cringing and crunching...

Got everything installed last night- shifting is crisper and MUCH shorter. The only caveat is that the shift effort is a bit higher- not a lot more than stock, but enough to count. I only bring it up because it's something that gets left out of the discussion around SSKs.

I'd like to know which slot on the shift linkage people used, upper or lower?

The one I just got only has a single slot, which gives you a 30 shorter side to side throw vs stock. It's nice, IMHO.

Odd, mine has two, the upper one is supposed to be shorter than the lower, I ordered it a couple of years ago, maybe they've decided t wasn't useful and discontinued?

That's my guess. More cuts makes machining take longer- wonder if it's cheaper this way too?
