Default Seat Comparison

Thought I'd share my recently acquired seat information.

The seats are (on the left in the photo) stock Porsche comfort seats out of a later year model 911 and are fully power adjustable including seat heaters, the other seat (on the right) is a manual seat out of EVO.

Weight difference is 20 lbs between the two (Porsche seat is heavier) - total of 40 lbs.

The seat base is about the same height while the EVO seat has a little deeper side bolsters and is slightly taller.

Which seat would you rather look through the window and see?
Personally I can't stand the "belt holes" and Recaro logo on the EVO seat pictured. It'd look fine as a seat without but...

Is the 40lbs worth that much to you?
The "late" seat is probably pretty comparable to power 944/968 seats, which also have about a ~20lb difference vs 944 manual seats.

Hey, no need to brag!

Comfort vs performance.

I've sat in the EVO seats before - good for 'spirited' driving, but I wouldn't call them comfortable for anything else.

Seems like the belt openings have found their way into other seats as well.

Jay what boat were you on? My brother was on the Ray out of Charleston in the mid 70's.

The pleasure was all mine - I would gladly do it again. One of the best decisions I've made in my life.
