Default Cam Gear Size

I have an '86 944NA and I'm about to do some front end work on the engine. I'd like to make sure I have all the right tools before I get started though and I'm wondering if someone can tell me the size (diameter) of the cam gear so I can make sure I have the right sized gear puller.

Thanks in advance

You don't need a gear puller to remove pulleys or Sprocket's from the front of a NA 944.

While you don't need any specialized tools to work on the front of the NA 944 engine the ArnnWorx tool set is a good investment if your planning keeping your car for a long time.

You also need a triple square socket for the camshaft bolt. Snap On number: FTSM10E

Yeah, get the tool set or equivalent as commented above.

Seal pullers would be nice to have also.

self tapping screws work well if you dont have seal pullers. drive two into opposite edges of the seal and grab em with two pairs of pliers.

on occasion i have found a cam gear to be jammed on there via corrosion...
the NA cam gear is 40 teeth spaced 0.375" apart...so it should be around 4.75" diameter
