The cylinder head.
This is not from the same block. I sourced this head and camshafts from another 944S.
It will go to the machine shop for inspection, cleaning and line boring. The 6th cam journal on the intake side shows some wear and the intake cam set in the head with the caps on is somewhat hard to turn even with no valves, springs or lifters.
Out of line bores? Bent cam?

I wonder sometimes how people manage to damage cars in strange ways....
I'm not sure how this damage to the valve cover bolt hole near the number 7 cap happened, or I suppose I'm not sure what the person wrenching down the bolt was thinking, as it kept fighting back and getting tighter and tighter.
It doesn't look too bad though and I'm sure the machinist can straighten it out.

Reminds me of the broken bar above the air metering plate on the 928 I have...what happened????
