Default Radio Issues

Hi everyone,
Hope you are enjoying driving season! I am when I can keep a car operating.

Anyway, I am experiencing "issues" with the radio in my 944. It's an '88 with a replacement radio head.

CDs play fine so it does not appear to be in the amplifier section of the head.

Basically, weak stations do not come in well and strong stations fade at times. I am suspecting the radio head but want to investigate the booster between the antenna(glass) and head.

What so I need to know about this? Any help is appreciated.

Check the antenna connection behind the radio. Also, there's a 12v signal booster to the right of the glove box that attaches to the radio on one end and the other end is a plug in connection (under the little metal cover next to passenger side hood hinge, behind battery). Check the plug-in connection there also. Failing any success, the signal amplifier may be gone. They're on ebay all the time, cheap.
