Just a suggestion: heat the arm to 100 degreesC and use liquid nitrogen on the ball joint/sleeve?

I took the arm over to our team's garage and 4 of us were able to hold and get an impact on the retaining sleeve. Huge torque applied to it and it didn't budge. It's jammed in there good. It's now off to a machine shop to get the sleeve lathed out and then hopefully a new retaining sleeve can be fitted. I think the part of the arm that holds the bearing outer race is ok so hopefully it's still salvageable. I did order some new spindles from Lart so I can use my high strung arms with 17mm pins.

Default Charlie arm Ball Joints

Justin, any update on the installation of the new ball joints? Just starting my project and trying to order parts. Where did you get the new ball joints from?
Thanks.

I got the ball joint from racer's edge. My problem now is getting the retaining sleeve out. I'm going to have to get a machine shot to cut out the sleeve check the threads and then make a new sleeve for it.

I talked with Wrightwood Racing. The have a tool for the retaining ring removal that is only available from their dealers. Working with one of their dealers now to obtain the tool and the parts.

Default Got the measurements and reinstalled the ball joint

Just to close the loop on this thread, here are the measurements of the heim joint in mm before reassembling the ball joint part of the Charlie Arm. From the top of the page it's side view, top view, outer race. I ended up getting a new retaining sleeve machined(+1 spare) and reinstalled with basically as much torque as I could put on the breaker bar before the tool would slip out of the notches. I would say it's in the lug nut+ range of clicks. Or 3 guggas of torque.
To make it a bit easier to search and in case the photo evaporates, it's: Outer race:34.92mm OD, 14.45mm wide. Total length 30.45mm, Hole ID 15.84mm, OD 21.68mm.

The part number on my Charlie arm bearings is NHBB ABYT10. I see multiple sources, including http://bakerprecision.com/nhbb4.htm.
