Well travelled 951
Hi, just Joined here.
I am in the UK and have an '86 951. It is a North America specification car, built in January '86. It spent it's first 3 years in the 'States before being exported to Japan in 1989. It stayed in Japan until being exported again, this time to Ireland at the end of 2006. It remained in Ireland until 2014, when it came to England. I bought it early this year.
Sadly, all the car's history has been lost, and I am trying to piece it together again. I have acquired a letter of origin and the original specification from Porsche Cars GB, but they are unwilling to tell me the original dealer the car was delivered to in the United States or any other history they may have. I have also tried Porsche in Germany and the US.
I also tried a Carfax search, but there are no results, maybe because it was exported so long ago.
If anyone out there can help me trace any history in the US or Japan, please contact me, I'd appreciate the help.

Porsche will no longer supply a Kardex for your car,
BUT
I have read online on another Forum ( Early 911S Registry ) that if one attends an event where Porsche has a Porsche Tent at a PCA club function such as the PCA National Parade, that they have a link via computer that allows a person to look at that data, but no pictures and no photocopy permitted.
It IS a start..... Best wishes with your pursuits.
