I have tried to figure out what is wrong . I posted the first couple that I got off my phone and all was fine . Every pic since then has been turned either upside down or sideways , regardless of what direction the camera is being held . I did manage to get a little more done today . The rear lock seal came in so that is now fixed . I got the sunroof out over the weekend and cleaned all the tubes out and cleaned the channel out . All interior has been pulled out for a good inspection and scrub down . I`m putting down some fatmat through out the car for a little more sound dampening . I have went through all the lights and got them all working along with the rest of the electrical stuff . The car had been sitting in a garage for almost a year before I got it . The pump had locked up and I have a new one that should be here by Thursday . After that , I will get to the real problem , the clutch . I knew what I was getting into when I bought the car , other than the fuel pump .

Update for today , fuel pump in and engine back to life . The remainder of the old fuel I could not get out smells horrible , almost forgot how bad it is . Now that it is running , I have a distinct rattle or jingle in the bell housing . I`m pretty sure the center is tore out of the clutch disc . One step at a time til I get this old girl back on the road .

Nice car, nice progress. Looks like a great place to turn the wrench.

JWebber,

If you are interested, I have porsche factory 21mm spacers available for rear or front. I have them listed for sale online but I will provide a rennlist discount, just let me know.

Thanks for flipping those pics , I still have not figured out how or why that was doing that . I might take you up on those spacers to Bonus , just not til I get done with the clutch and timing belt business .

Spent the first part of the day at the pick n pull with some of my local gear heads . I picked up a couple things for future use . Spent the rest of the day cleaning up all the parts to put the clutch back . Going to spend the evening cleaning the bay since the weather is so nice here on the east coast right now . Speaking of clutches , does anybody have a source to get a deal on one ? Anyhow , a couple more pics , since people like pics .

This is a perfect opportunity to replace the shift linkage with a short shifter from only944.com. It's the ONE upgrade this car will really benefit from. While the transaxle is out makes the installation easier. You'll love it. I hope you're planning on a spring center clutch vs the rubber donut.

Absolutely , factory sachs clutch as soon as the bonus check from work hits my account . Guess I will look into the short shift too .
[ Edit ] I just bought the short shift kit .
