Default Dansk rear muffler for 951

Hello guys

Please advise

I just bought a Dansk rear muffler to fit on my 1989 model 951 turbo (184KW). to replace the ****ty homemade stuff someone put there years ago.

Problem: the intermediate pipe seems like the stock one from Porsche and meassures 2 1/2" diameter(63mm).
The Dansk muffler pipe is apprx 2 1/4" diameter(58mm).

I was confirmed by dealer to be correct and matching partnumbers from Dansk. He states that it is normal to reduce the rear muffler piping....

I am sceptic to say the least....

Is it really correct that the rear muffler has smaller diameter than the intermediate exhaust pipe from stock?? the flange fits good.....

Is someone pulling a leg on me, or is the 184KW 951 stock equipped with 2 1/4" exhaust all the way and my intermediate pipe is not original????

Can anyone explain??
