Default Paint rework

Started the long process of redoing some paint on my turbo. Getting much needed help (meaning him showing me how to do everything and letting me use his amazing garage lol) from my buddy Dan or most know as xsboost90. This is first spray of primer and doing a vented nose. Will post more progress hoping to be spraying paint this weekend. I have a new respect for anyone who does paint and body work on a regular basis lol

Good paint and body work is an art. Surface prep is 90% of a good paint job. I'm sure your friend has told you the same thing. Patience pays off. The minutes you shave taking short cuts will haunt you for years every time you see something that could have been done a little better. One of my partners in crime in a previous life was a paint and body man of some fame, known for his bikes and race cars. He helped me paint my cars and motorcycles and I used that experience to later paint 2 planes. Now that's was a lot of surface area to prep! Keep us updated on your progress

Well got the wet sanding and paint done this weekend on a couple long nights. We were trying to take advantage of this crazy warmer weather here in Kentucky. Should be reassembled this weekend and taking her for a cruize!

Wow someone's been real busy and is a keen welder!

Did you not consider buying one of these panels from the 924 turbo in Steel, or a fibre version ?

We looked but had a nose panel off a friends parts car and a set of vents we haggled to get. This was Dans third time doing it so I got the advantage of him know what to do and what not to lol.

the 924 turbo nose pan will fit the n/a but not a turbo- different nose. This was my FOURTH time welding these vents in and it was just as much a PITA as i remember. Turned out decent though- this week we should be assembling and wetsanding all my dust out for polishing.

On another note- bought a turbo parts car, will be here thursday. Something else to distract me from my projects.

Took delivery of my GT4RS in late September after full paint correction and full body PPF. Detailer said it had lots of imperfections from the get go. No car is delivered with a great paint job from factory. Ferrari is even worse he said and Porsche is one of the better ones.
