Default Removing Mirror (pic)....quick question

Removing my mirror and there seems to be a solid black "dot" when I fold back the mirror. On my other 944 there is just an allen head that you unscrew...

Is this just a protective cap or does this require a different method?

Thanks!!

It's a protective plastic cap. Under it is an allen head bolt. I use a little pick tool to take the cap off.
