Default Porsche 944 Touchscreen radio fitment

I am in need of upgrading my sound system in my car due to blown speakers and i was thinkning that i might as well upgrade the head unit aswell. I have seen single din touch screen units in other cars but im not sure if one would fit in the porsche due to it clearing the AC controls. Does anyone have touchscreen units in their car/ input on if itd work? BTW heres a link to the style of one im looking at http://www.ebay.com/itm/Single-1-Din...item3aae4d9fc6

Early or late 944? I saw a guy with a sweet setup in a late car but probably required steady hands to do the modification. For an early car, I personally think retro looks best but that's just my opinion. Plus I can't see how it would work given that the shifter is right in the way. I have a CD player and can't change the disc if I'm in 5th, I need to downshift to 4th because of physical interference with the shifter. Can't imagine trying to use a touchscreen in that area.

Its the 1984. I mean with the shifter i could see it getting close but i think it would clear and be fine. My only concern is if the screen could flip up all the way with the ac controls being right above

No idea about how it would fit in a early car but that unit is not worth the effort of fitting. You live in a country that has name brand gear cheaper then anywhere in the world, and you are fitting it to a Porsche and you are seriously considering the cheapest junk money can be wasted on ? Aim higher would be my advice
