When you do finally need one they are nla and your car becomes a stationary work of art sitting in your driveway.

I've figured out that when someone goes to the trouble of making obsolete parts like this, you have to grab one. They tend to stop making them at some point and you're left wishing you bought one

Guess I'd be interested even though I haven't decided if I'll go manual or not, nor do I have a manual rack yet. But, I'll gladly help the order out and let it sit on my shelf for a while!

Is the main advantage to a new shaft a reduction in play? Or are many racks missing shafts? What's the huge draw here without racks to accompany?
