Just watched both videos. Looked like a good race! Too bad about that forward facing camera. Thanks for shooting this video on a 60fps camera as well.

Thanks, it was really exciting trying to hunt that 944 Turbo - He flew on straights but we cought him in tighter corners and braking. Orange 911 just had better pace so couldn't keep him behind.. 2nd race was on wet and it's different story... ,)

I also like 60ftp footage, its more pleasant to watch. still, I thought testing the camera next time on 30fps because it might be one culprit why camera stopped working between the races (overheating etc?).

968 engined 944's still outpace us badly on straights, 45hp disadvantage espec on 4th gear is difficult to response, but luckily we have some tricks to play before next race. Light car works nicely in corners and its a blast to drive. Notice that we're still running without limited slip diff (LSD) - rear end sticks nicely to track.

Well well well... what a disappointing response from others. What? No cheer from the lowly 8 valve n/a crowd? No nods or gestures signifying "Heck of a good drive laddy"... "You did very well against faster cars because of your skill in the garage & particularly on the track".

YOU KICKED ***. My only complaint is you made it look too easy because you were so steady eddy behind the wheel of a quick automobile.

What all do you have done to this 8valver. Makes me proud to own one..mine is getting set up for DE and as close to 2,000lb as I can get. I'm interested in what you have done to this thing(engine wise)? Made my night. Nice driving by the way!

Noahs944, LOL!
it's very pleasing to get this 8V going since is quite an underdog in Porsche community, also among 944 owners.
Car is quite much lightened to bones expect there might still be potential for 20-30kg. Our goal would be to get it sub900kg some day, but for this class it might not be useful since we would hop to (4-5kg/hp).

Aj944sl, we've done quite alot - or actually the previous owner has, and we have continued the development what we have seen to be best for the speed and driveability. It really doesnt matter what race car you're building - you have same story with everyone - get better driveability, more hp and less weight. easy beasy?

Current setup (I can post details in PM if u're interested)
Engine - sleeved 2.5ltr
engine management - Tatech32lite
camshaft - modded
pistons - wössner
rods - 944 Turbo forged
lightened flywheel
adjustable cam gear
balanced crank
removed balance shafts
jenvey itb
new gen injectors (capable to 300hp)

suspension
sways - front 26.8mm, rear sway modded 14mm (944 CS "M020")
shocks - bilstein
springs -dunno (from last owner)

glassfibre fenders, plastic windows, normal bits there..

there's more project pics at our facebook page www.facebook.com/vauhtiveikot

Here's vid from Race 2, same track but wet conditions. We had tough battle for first laps with Krabban but managed to get pass. We were very strong on wet track, won class 8 (street legal tires), 2nd car in same class lost over 25s. We also got past of one gt3 cup car..

Krabban's vid

Our Race2 vid

Overall vid from the race day that shows all the participating classes

Our car seems to be quick on wet, for dry we still need to dial it in abit..

Thanks for sharing. Your car is running really great.
Nice to see what the 2.5 8V is capable, with some simple mods.

New control arm front bushes. For some reason stock bushes wont keep in their place. Drove last race with control arm and bushing had already swam off its position. Not typical Porsche stuff..!

Thanks for sharing! Very nice.

Lada wires are a hoot!

Looks like you're running some old Fuchs reps - I'd recommend checking them for cracks if you haven't already.

Car looks great!
