I got the new springs in and the ride height set but I have another problem. The adjustable coil spring collars were as low as the could possibly go with the longer springs so I did not tighten the set screws. BAD IDEA!!!!!:bang head:
They backed out and disappeared. Does anyone know the specs on the set screws or have a set for sale?
The fixed headlight project is stalled. I need to find a shop to make the one piece plexiglass header panel/light covers. I've been working on other things and have not spent much time looking. I may leave it like it is because it looks like a transformer, maybe the Porsche version of Sentinal Prime

Dear AZ..better check out your state no-no's in regards to the headlights and covers. Many states have a ban on separate covers for headlights. Federal reg on headlight height minimum is 22"..26" for the high limit. Ignored in many communities...However, your state DOT may have other ideas. 1967 was the last year that I know of that separate covers were allowed by the Feds..(think XKE's & VW beetles) and their headlight changes in '68 onwards. That's the reason that all the lexan units are sealed that are on cars today. Be sure to leave a weep hole or a drain in the bottom of the "sugar scoop" to let out the condensate that forms from the heat. Hope this helps some..

I had some free time so I cut up the factory headlight covers. I bent the inboard lip up and cut off the front edge of the covers. They are just duct taped in place at this point. I may have them welded and the whole piece cleaned up and painted by a good body shop. I still like the plexiglass cover idea better.
It comes with several screws. You must drill mounting holes up through the trunk lid and into the spoiler for the mounting screws.

New TOYS!!!!!
I picked up a long 5th gear set out of an early 944 NA, 3 new synchros, and a trans reseal kit.
I have also acquired a big roll of matt white vinyl.
I also bought a paint gun.
I will be fixing some minor body issues and then using primer and sealer on the spots that need it and then wrapping my car. I plan to start with what should be the easier sections and then work toward the more complex shapes. The front bumper cover is intimidating to think about. I'll be watching a ton of youtube videos before I start the wrapping process.
At some point before, during, or after, I will be freshening the transmission.
tiger I forgot to mention something based on your comment. The headlight area will be open to the engine compartment in the back so I don't think condensation will be an issue(Plus I live in Arizona where humidity in general seems to be against the state constitution).

Three Wheelin'
That front lip is simply too large, on the verge of silly.
You should use clear lenses to cover the headlights but let the stuff inside be visible. It would look great compared to the squinty look it has now.

I hate the GT look on anything other than a real gt. It doesn't flow with the rest of the body lines. This is the kind of look I am working toward(excuse the poor artistry skills, I did it in MS paint). I think it will be less squinty with a smooth, seamless cover.
