Do you know where the wires run to? DME? Main wiring panel?

Are you thinking about repurposing it as a IAT input for MS? It needs to be a decreasing-resistance type in order to calibrate it in the config, unsure about that particular part. I wonder how hard it would be to adapt a GM IAT, you would need something to convert the thread to 3/8" NPT

I bought the DIYPNP IAT kit. I am going to wire it into my new wiring harness.

I just want to make sure the extra factory sensor is not going to mess up my build.
I can't find the second sensor on the factory wiring diagram.

Found some nice white small door seal and used that as the gasket for the clear rear side marker lights. They are in. Perfect with the white paint.

Cleaned up one of the rear axles/CV joints.

The picture is the future plan. Until that is completed I need a simpler intake for an S2 turbo. I guess I'll build my own.

Ingredients:
1 951 intake
1 944 S2 intake
1 band saw
1 metal file
1 big tub of elbow grease
1 big aluminum pipe
1 small aluminum pipe(because I screwed up)

Measure
Apply band saw to the 951 and S2 intakes
Test fit intake parts together

Repeat for 4 hours
Plan for pipe fitting for gaps
Take to friend who welds aluminum

Stay tuned for the results

Here are a few more pics for your enjoyment.

Some of the parts will be formed in high strength(OEM quality) nylon, the rest will be aluminum and carbon fiber.

Still a lot more to do but I wanted a quick look at what the end result will look like.

Sexy!!

How are the VAG coils controlled - they're 3 pin IIRC, what's the wiring approach? I've read about using this:

http://www.microsquirt.info/Bosch_211.htm

...but they're 3 pin, with a signal wire.

These are actually a 4 pin coil. These are the pins.

Signal ground
ECU Signal 0,5v
power ground
12v

I will be controlling them directly with the MS PNP system.

more tools and parts arrived.
Arnnworx belt tools and a set of 968 mirrors.

The mirrors are in fantastic shape. Too bad they are black. Anyone have set of white ones in great shape they want to trade for black ones?

I got the AOR transmission in last night. The upper bolt on the passenger side has a little alignment ring that slides into and area on the transmission and the TT mounting face. I should have checked that ring a little closer. The one from the AOT trans stayed in the TT mounting face and the one from the AOR stayed in place. I got the whole thing up and in place and the other three bolts tightened up when I realized that I had two rings where there is only room for one. I had to take the whole d@mn thing apart to get one of the rings out and then put it all back together. I was NOT amused. I finished around 4am this morning. On the plus side, it did not fall off the jack and land on my arm like last time.
I also pulled the front bumper cover, and the AC condenser off and now I have better access to some of the wiring I am going to be working with for the MS project.

I did the same exact thing when fitting a replacement trans...there were two of those dowel pins interfering. Luckily I was able to lower one of the trans mounts and get it out with vice grips.

Looking forward to seeing the MS bits come together.

Making some progress.

Euro front bumper cover is almost ready for paint. I stripped almost all the original paint off. I am having fun trying to remove the paint in the light openings and down in all the other openings.
968 mirrors, GT racing rear bumper, and rear spoiler are ready for paint.
TonyG front splitter is ready for white bed liner.
Cleaned up both parts of the top timing belt cover for powder coating to match the cam cover.
AOR transmission is installed with stage 8 locking bolts, only944 short shifter and shift lever.

Cam chain and tensioner pads are replaced, just waiting on a few parts before I put everything back together. I consider myself lucky because only two of the cam cap bolts stripped when I was removing the cams. Both of them came out fairly easy after drilling the heads and hammering in a normal star bit.

I got two boxes of parts today. 48 different colors of mil-spec wiring, several sizes of wire cover(with hot knife to cut it) and heat shrink tubing, and a Deutsch HDP20 Series 33 pin connector. I already have new injector connectors, COP connectors, etc.

Tomorrow, I start on the wiring harness for the DIYPNP MS system.
