Has Anyone Reused Stock Seat Mounts For Aftermarket Seats?
I'm interested in buying a set of aftermarket seats for my 951 project car, and just curious if anyone has adapted the factory 944 seat base/slider to fit a Recaro/Sparco/Corbeau/Bride/etc aftermarket sport seat? If so, what work is required to make it work? Searching found some threads saying that it's possible, but not much detail.

I just mounted recaro rails to the stock location. You need to drill a new hole in the back of the rail on one side and elongate a hole in the other. Pretty easy actually, dunno why you'd buy an adapter.
To be extra safe I made a plate with the matching holes to act as a big washer.

I also just modified the rails on my aftermarket seats, it seemed like it would have been more work to adapt the 944 rails to the seat.

I mounted stock rails to some aftermarket seats I used to have. All I had to do was measure and drill holes in the rail to line up to the seat, then install like a normal 944 seat. Very easy. I suppose you would have to make sure the spacing between rails is correct first. Maybe it's a standard spacing?

Here's what I've always done using minimal amounts of extra hardware. First, I space apart the sliding rails so they fit the holes in the floor. Then I maintain that spacing by bolting a bracket between them. On that bracket, I weld tabs at the correct spacing for the seat. I also make a bracket for the seat-belt buckle as that's welded to the factory seat-rails or bolted to the tunnel (not optimal to begin with).
With correct measurements and cutting, when it's all bolted together, dropping the seat into the car has all the holes lining up with the factory mounting points perfectly!
