Default Upper strut tower brace mess

I replaced my leaking AOS over the weekend and when I went to put the upper strut tower brace back on I realized the only way to get it back in line with the grooves was to force it down which would force the brake fluid and master cylinder down as well.

I didn't want to do that so I've left it off but now as I look at the top of the struts I'm wondering if the left and right ones are supposed to be the same?

This is my first car that's had a strut brace so I'm not familiar with these but it seems as if something's rotten in Denmark ... recommendations?

(NOTE: in this picture I laid the bar on top of the holes they were in only for demonstrative purposes)

The LH attachment looks like it's in the completely wrong position and the brace is 180 degrees out.

MAGK944's picture shows that the brackets on top of the strut towers are different for left and right while mine are the same for left and right and that's the issue why bar isn't fitting

Turn the bar around and attach to the two forward lugs.

The bar is too long to do that.
I'm convinced the issue is that the two black mounts i have are the same (not sure u can tell from the pic) when they should be different for left and right like you have

What? You said it was on correctly before you dicked with the intake, and now it wont go back on right? Flip the bar and move the brackets....

I don't get where your saying the brackets are incorrect if it was on before and working?

It was on but not correctly in the sense that in order to fit the bar into both brackets the bar had to be pressed down onto the brake fluid reservoir
In other words until now the brake fluid reservoir has been forced down a bit due to how the PO installed the bar and i didnt want to replace it as such.
944 online confirmed the brackets are not right (either there's two lefts or two rights instead of a left and a right) and i bought their set for 135, should be in next week

If you have some money to spend the lower chassis brace is pretty amazing on a 944.

Yeah, wouldn't be the first time, i once found a drywall screw holding the mirror onto the stalk. Everytime i replace a part i replace the bolts as well so now my intake, fuel rail, and aos have all new bolts (the bottom aos bolt is now a shorter one so it goes in/out without having to remove turbo/downpipe)

...or the PO might have bought an used na brace and forced it to work on the 951.

I cannot see how he could have bought the parts to make that system up separately.

...so maybe you have an na strut brace to sell.

It looks like the PO got really creative with your vacuum line and electrical line routing as well.

Not a bad idea, since i replaced the control arms with 944 online steel control arms, I have to see if they bolt into those
