Default Why two sub forums?

Hi there, new old guy, used to have a 82 911SC, I think my old name was 55chevy but maybe used an old work email, can't recover my password, just picked up a cheap 88 944 N/A, and my question is what is the difference between this sub forum:
Water Cooled Technical Discussion Areas
924/931/944/951/968 Forum
Sponsored By EBS Racing
and this sub forum:
924/944/951/968 Model Specific Technical Forums?

The first one has all of them together, and the 2nd one splits them into four separate sub sub forums, covering eight models. Why the different subforums?

Their intention is to use the model specific forums for topics exclusive to each model... Many differences between 24/44/51/68 models.

I think most would agree that they never spend any time on the specific forums, except it looks like the turbo guys are on there quite a bit discussing 951 things.

lol nice

The 944 turbo forum is very active. The 968 forum has some activity (well, I think, I haven't been there in years...). I think an owner will go to the specific forum when they want to hang with owners of the same car (who understand their specific pains and sub-problems, lol).

I bounce between the main 944 forum and 951/968 pretty frequently. Currently owning a 944S/951/968, there are enough model-specific differences that each sub forum provides plenty of information and discussion related to each one.

Really all of the subs are not needed anymore but there are useful posts in them so is more of an archive with occasional activity. The 951 forum has turned into the unoffical "you can talk about v8s" area and has also turned into the 944 rocket scientist/racer hangout, this area is more for the everyday guys and newbs. It helps keep the peace IMO.
