That is great stuff, thanks for that. So my coil is dead, just double checked.

I have owned two 944's that were each sitting neglected for multiple years (7 years in one case). Both of them had stuck injectors. Varnished or whatever. I disconnected the injectors, and applied 12v directly to the pins on them, short pulses of power. I could hear them make a dull thud at first, then gradually start clicking. Then I repeated with the fuel pump hot-wired to actually flow some fresh gas thru them (not much since this has the potential to put a fair amount of gas in the cylinders). It fired up right quickly after that, running a little roughly, but it cleared up in a few minutes. SeaFoam in the gas helped a lot.

I cleaned the injectors with carb and choke cleaner under pressure while pulsing the injectors with 12V. I am confident they are ok.

Sadly he is 3000 miles away. I am confident the injectors are fine, they gave a good strong even spray. I reverse flushed them too. There were no problems with them before so just needed a clean.

Thanks

So just to get this correct, there is no need at all to remove the rubber bung to expose terminal 4?

I have no connection between terminal 4 and the main coil output terminal. If I check the main coil output terminal to either the _ or + threaded posts I have 5.2K ohms. Maybe my coil is ok.

OK just tested again to be sure. Followed your link to here: http://www.clarks-garage.com/shop-manual/ign-04.htm

Resistances are actually ok
Primary is 0.6 ohm
Secondary is5.2K ohms via the Clarks Garage procedure.

However I do not get a spark following their ignition coil test.
I have 12V on the black wire to + but no spark when grounding the - terminal to the chassis.

I still have another coil on order, so this was just to double check.
