I took an AOS I have apart and measured the o-ring and got 2.5mm thick. That's a lot less than 3/16" (???). The AOS is from an early NA car.

The o-ring in question is nominally 3/32" thickness, which is 0.09375".
2.5mm is 0.09843"

so only 0.00468" difference in thickness.

From Mcmaster:

AS568A Dash No. 151
Fractional Size
ID 3"
OD 3 3/16"
Actual Inch Size
ID 2.987"
OD 3.193"
Additional Specifications Width: 3/32" Fractional (0.103" Actual)
RoHS Compliant
Going off that "actual" measurement it is 0.00457" thicker than the one you removed, and accounting for o-ring shrinkage/squish over time that should be just right!

Awesome, glad you found the right one.

The one I did use, was a little bit thicker than even the wide section of the flattened original one. Regardless, all it needs to do is fit. If it's bigger, that is only an issue, if the cap won't go back on.

Was having trouble getting my cap fitted with the new o-ring, looked closer and realized the original o-ring was so shrunk and hard that I thought it was part of the plastic!

Removed it intact and the new/old o-rings are identical.
Put new one on, and AOS clipped back together!

For the people who have expressed interest I will see about shipping today or tomorrow.

update - been way short on time after work, haven't had a chance to ship the o-rings out.
I will try to get to it today!

Any updates on the replacement o-ring for the top of the AOS?

I have a lot of oil residue built up around this area and suspect the AOS seals are failing. I'm not planning on removing the turbo from the car just yet but thought I would at least replace the top cap o-ring if the McMaster part # is working without issue. TIA.

Seems to be holding up fine on mine.
