Default Recaro SPG Seats

Just received a pair of Recaro SPG seats.

Anyone know the distance between the rails on the 944?

Thanks...

Go inside the car with a tape measure and measure them with the seat full forward. Best way to know for sure.

It's answers like this that are the reason I don't like posting questions on Rennlist.

This forum sucks because of it, if you don't know the answer just STFU.

It's better to remain silent and let everyone think you're retarded then speak and remove all doubt.

Ha! I'm sure everyone will be lining up to help you now. So instead of taking a simple measurement you want someone else to do it for you? I am sure your weekend is TOTALLY booked.

I currently have a planted seat bracket installed and can't simply go measure.

And I was asking a simple question after searching this forum without success.

You would think someone knows the distance between rails, but no...people just like to post **** for the sake of posting even when they don't know the answers. Can you say troll mentality?

Anyways...

So, if someone posted something like ii is "14.75 inches between the rails" what is that going to tell you? First of all, when you remove the seats from a 944 there are no rails, just mounting points/holes. Then, there is a difference between the distance "between" the holes versus between the centers of the holes. One cannot tell from your "simple question" just what you want or need.

Further, if you take a measurement off of the sliding mechanism that is affixed to the bottom of the seats, which part do you consider the "rail?" Would that be the part that gets bolted to the car that the seats then slide on or the part that slides on it? What measurement in all of this are you looking for?

That's my point. Does that mean there is 16 inches of clearance between the rails or that they are mounted on 16 inch centers?

Thanks Moe, that tells me I need to keep the planted seat brace installed in order to fit these Recaro seats.

It was that simple, sorry for all the drama that this caused.

I'm not saying we should kill all the stupid people.

Just take the warning labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself.

You aren't even a paying member, stop bitching about your free question-answering service. The only people dragging down this place are people like you. It's a technical forum, not ask jeeves.

I measured my 85.5, I came up with 410mm, c-c. They can move around a little so you don't have to be exact.

Unless your SPG's are brand new, they have been recalled:
