Its been a fantasy of mine to order McDonalds food through the drive thru in Wilson for like 5 years. I can now take that off the wish list. Last night almost midnight we were charging up and down the hills in the blackness of the foothills on an incredible road, these LED headlight are AMAZING! Then today after a drive, my throttle cable broke but fortunately my friends kid gave me the brake cable from his BMX bike & we were able to drive home.

Well the full time rear view monitor & camera seem to be working well. It only draws 3 amps total!

The car desperately needs an alignment since lowering it about 2 inches (28mm torsion/250 lb springs). The ride, ride height & firmness seems great!

Less than 450 miles on my turbo conversion & the first turbo done blown up! I'm not mad at cha... I'll take the blame for needing better engineering. The oil feed line melted causing it the bearing to burn up! Here I'm drilling/tapping for a Greddy EBC map sensor and also opened up the oil restrictor plate to 1.5mm diameter.

Well last night I got to drive a car that was on my wish list: Japanese S2 3.0 litre (sunroof delete model)… just beautiful.
Here I have been trying to sell my car locally for like half of what I put into it... just a soft market I guess.
Driving the S2 was like driving a 924. It was a disappointment (to my surprise), I think on the track or a daily driver it would be just fine, but after the experience I was quite proud of the work I did on Wilson, because he feels like a beast in comparison. Maybe I wasn't an idiot after all!

Sorry, I should apologize for sounding like a jerk in the last post. Its not fair to judge a car based on the drive I took it on.
I was just surprised with how sleepy the car felt... but I have to say THE BRAKES WERE INCREDIBLE way better than my stock 944 n/a brakes.
And also I was very impressed with the swiftness it got up to 80 kph when I stepped on the accelerator harder because I looked at the speedo thinking it would be at 60 kph… that's 25 % faster than I was expecting. Perhaps it's deceiving how quick the car is, because of it's smoothness.

I don't think the market is the problem. You've customized the car to your tastes and that makes it really hard to sell. The cage makes it unappealing as a street car and the lack of certification and log book make it unappealing as a race car. There's a lot of stuff that looks unfinished like the headlights and wiring. You're married to that car buddy! If you are ready for a divorce, you're going to have to take it apart and sell the pieces to get any kind of decent money back out of it. Either that or double down, finish it and enjoy it for what it is.

both those comments are very true. When you modify any car generally it hurts the value, doesn't increase it. This has been my debate with my 944S, as if I keep the motor I want to boost it but if I sell it the car will always be overlooked for a factory turbo car and v8 rules out the purists and honestly v8 cars don't pull the penny they did a few years ago. So whatever I do it really has to be for me unless I restore it. My 951 was hard to sell even with thousands of dollars of maintenance records and was modded a great deal. It went way below what it was really worth and what I put into it. Like Scott said keep building it the way you want and enjoy it, if there's another one you want just save and buy another car as it's very hard to get back what you've already put into Wilson. You also have been doing a very interesting build and the community has enjoyed the journey.

ive been searching for a new dd. i like subaru so naturally started there.

lots of older WRX wagons available, even the non-turbo ones are good priced...but as soon as i see any kind of "mod", the car is disqualified from my search.

you (and those modding owners) may have done everything correctly and not beaten on the car...but how do i (the prospective buyer) know that?

easier to just find another one that's stock.
