I think stock solid-state are more robust. I'd also question why one would need more voltage than stock unless perhaps you moved the battery to the trunk and need extra voltage to compensate for voltage drop in the longer battery cables? Otherwise you are wasting gasoline to cook your battery.

I wouldn't recommend them. I purchased one in the fall and have had fluctuating voltage output since. A lot of people bought them some years back and there were serious reliability issues.
