Brake Pad Warning Light
I have an '87 951. The brake pad light came on a few weeks ago because the front pads were worn (it worked as it should). I replaced the front pads and installed new sensors. I have the double sensors that go in the inner & outer pads. Got it back together and went for a test drive and the brake pad light is still on. Is there a reset button or do you have to drive a few cycles before it goes out?
BTW: I installed the Textar yellow box pads and after bedding them in the brakes work great.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Its easy to brake the new sensors when you put them in and that will short the system causing the light. I just disconnect the sensor myself, as i watch pad life closely.

I'd check the continuity of the sensors through their connectors with a meter to make sure they didn't break.
If fine I'd clean the connections with contact cleaner.
If that doesn't fix it, it might be the rear's turn.

Problem solved. I checked the continuity of the front & rear sensors and found one of the rear sensors was not fully connected. While doing the front brakes, I re-wrapped the wiring downstream of the rear sensors where the insulation had cracked and must have pulled the connector out enough to break the connection. Thanks for the help.
