Default side moldings. did all 944s have them?

I'm checking out a 944 to buy. My understanding is that all 944's had the side thin moldings stock. Correct?

No. They were optional.

If you're referring to the style, the 924 models have thinner black ones that ran longer down the car, whereas as the 944 and 968 have the shorter, wider color-matched ones.

As FrenchToast stated, they were optional across all years I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong on that last part). I have two '84s and while my black one has the side moldings, my grey one does not. The 924 had the very thin, black moldings. Personally, I think the cars look better without them.
