How come I can't simply put lowering springs on oem S2 front struts?
As I think about suspension and lowering the car, I'm wondering why replacing the front springs on my S2 with a lowered spring is not possible?
Is it because no one makes a lowered spring for the stock setup, or is there another reason I'm unaware of? This use to be an inexpensive practice not too long ago and still today on many other cars (imports).

Why do you say it's not possible?
If the S2 uses the same size spring as the NA/turbo you can get lowering springs for $200/pair.
If you have the coilover sleeve then you have a million spring options.

I don't recall seeing those H&R springs when I looked before, only weltmeister and some others that needed the inserts replaced with koni's and fitted with a coilover kit.

I ran some in 2009 (along with the Koni inserts, although they work fine on standard struts) before I went for the H&R RSS coilovers.

Well....yes and no. The springs we sell now are H&R. At one point we had Hypercoil make a batch of springs as the H&R's weren't available for an extended period of time. Either way, both are good stuff!

I have h&r springs on my s2. No issue whatsoever. The issue comes when you want new shocks if you are non m030. Then you have to cut open the strut housing. Easy job and then you can run konis.
Got mine from Jason years ago as well. ;-)
