Doug,

Dave Sailor has a 944 built for the SCCA in the 80's that must have been a $50K+ build back then. It sat for 10+ years, and was recently ressurrected. Dave is planning on demodding it to 944 Spec trim over the winter. I've driven the car - it has very short, close ratios - definitely very custom. It was redline limited to around 110 @ 6,500 - 6,800rpm in 5th at Road America on 225/45/15 tires. Anyway, the gearbox will be for sale as soon as he gets it out of the car.

The motor is a monster high compression lightweight internal 8V as well that will come up for sale later.

The car even has an 80's data system with steering and suspension travel sensors, hooked up to a floppy drive. The car is a trip.
