Default Wiper Linkage Nut Removal Help

Trying to remove the plastic cover over the blower motor on my 85.2 and I am attempting to remove the nut on the passenger side wiper linkage underneath the wiper arm. There is something above the threaded portion of the nut and the nut is super tight. Any recommendations to removing that nut?

You can't use heat but I'd try soaking it with Nut Blaster penetrating oil and taps around the nut with a screwdriver driven by a hammer to shock the oil into the metal. It may not work right away but use patience and repeat. Avoid using vice grips because it clamps the nut tighter on the shaft.

If you can't use heat, you could use a nut splitter. I've never used one, but I know of others that have. You could also use a small die grinder to split the nut, or at least get it 95% split and then use a nut splitter to spread it the rest of the way so it is loose and can be backed out.
