Default Muffler Opinions Please

Hi guys,

My muffler recently came off the exhaust pipe on my '90 S2 cab. I've spent a few hours looking at threads but still do not have a consensus. I would like to just replace the muffler, and many here have gone with a magnaflow. Is this a good way to go?

I have never failed emissions, and need to pass one more this week before it is exempt. Any input appreciated.

thanks.

I have the Dansk stainless steel cat-back on my S2 and I would highly recommend it, if thats all you're looking for. I would say the sound is close to stock, but just a little sportier and no raspyness to speak of either. http://www.automotion.com/dansk-orig...1987-1991.html

If you're happy with stock sound, the Dansk will be perfect. Beautifully made as well.

I clicked on odurandina's link because I was curious and boy that was a surprise!

I'm in the minority here, I like my cars loud and mean sounding. I have the Broadfoot Racing exhaust and love it. The Dansk is too tame for me.

I agree with veleno, the stainless steel cat back exhaust system from Broadfoot Racing is awesome!

you guys are severely overcomplicating things. it's all ballbearings nowadays....

1. straight pipe/no cat 2 1/4" for 944S.... 2 1/2" for S2/968.

2. decent resonator
a. loud (SLP) or
b. less loud, Borla, Magnaflow, Vibrant, etc.....

3. moderate to large muffler.
best; Borla, Magnaflow or Vibrant 15" X 9" X 5"

The other good option is Dansk. I run it on my S2.
