Mechanical transaxle cooler pump
Hi,
I've searched and not found any information on this. Does anyone out there know approximately how much fluid the gear driven 951 transaxle fluid pump is pushing through the cooler loop?
There appears to be a spring loaded pressure relief and the gears are pretty tiny. I assume the volume varies by how fast the final drive is turning.
Is there any technical data available on the system?
Thanks in advance,
Dan J

I have no idea of the flow rate. Porsche doesn't publish a figure that I have ever seen. It will depend on wheel speed, since the pump is driven by a sprocket attached to the differential case. I suspect the oil viscosity matters a bit, and so flow rate will depend on fluid temp.

Van, thanks!
