The owner of the attached was crucified for ordering this paint job, done by Porsche, sold the car, and it's been impossible to resell since.

Not that I'm criticizing the OPs paint job or the custom paint job for that matter, just curious why some get complimented and others blasphemed ... ?
Paint jobs with 'designs' on them like mine or that Cayman are more subjected to people sharing their opinions. So with that being said it will always get some criticism. But realistically it shouldn't matter what other people think, as long as you like the design yourself and are happy with it, then that's all that matters.

As for paint job & prep techniques, that is where you can truly do a 'right or wrong' paint job. Some of the methods you asked about in your first post would be an absolute terrible idea (like sanding to bare metal, for example). But that's why it's a good thing that you asked before just jumping right into it. Fortunately the plasti-dip paint job requires almost zero prep work, so there's not a whole lot to screw up.

A few recent updates to the exterior of the car. I've added a euro-style rear bumper and Lemans spoiler to the back of the car. I think it helps enhance the aggressive look of this particular car. I have added a few recent photos to the original post of this thread. But I think the next thing I need to do is go out and get some really good photos of the rear of the car now with it's new goodies

It's simple: like Art, these paint jobs 'spoke' to them. And one should never ignore the little voices in their head.

I saw your car at the Petit LaMans at Road Atlanta this past year. Looked good.

I like it... The wide forgelines help things for sure. If the paint is in as bad a shape as it sounds then I'm sure it's an improvement right?

It's down at Va Beach now. It hasn't been sold in years and is rotting in a warehouse but the dealer won't come down in price, go figure

Thanks! Did you have your car there as well?

Yep, the Forgelines help the look on any of my 944's.
The paint underneath the Plastidip was in terrible shape. Peeling, flaking, fading, discolored, etc. So while my Plastidip job is rough and ghetto looking, it is definitely an improvement! haha.

Off topic but what part of Tampa are you from? You need to get hooked up with our Tampa 944 group down there. We have a pretty strong number of guys in the area. PM me for more info if you're interested!

I live in South Tampa... pretty close to the Air Force Base. I should be on your list, I'm the guy that was messaging with you on FB about your sport seats
